Christmas with The Salvation Army in Ottawa
From the Kettle Launch to the Toy Mountain finale at St. Laurent Centre, I spent the Christmas season photographing The Salvation Army's events across Ottawa. Six events in five weeks, all with the same goal: making Christmas brighter for families who need it most.
Kickoff
Kettle Launch
The season kicked off with live music, red kettles and plenty of smiles as The Salvation Army launched its Christmas Kettle Campaign in Ottawa.
Toy Mountain
Toy drives across the city
At Walmart, Access Storage and Best Buy, the Toy Mountain toy drives with CTV and Move 100.3 brought out store teams, volunteers, TV crews and more teddy bears than I could count.
A special visit
The Prime Minister at Fire Station 44
Prime Minister Mark Carney joined Ottawa firefighters and The Salvation Army at Fire Station 44 to support the Christmas toy drive.
The finale
The finale at St. Laurent Centre
The Toy Mountain season wrapped up at St. Laurent Centre with a mountain of donated toys, cheque presentations and one very enthusiastic elf.
