Coldest Night of the Year with Ottawa Innercity Ministries

Each winter, Ottawa Innercity Ministries joins Coldest Night of the Year, a winter walk across Canada that raises money for people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness. I've had the joy of photographing OIM's walk two years in a row.

Year two

Sunshine, soup and a dinosaur

Volunteers in green aprons welcomed everyone in, the late-afternoon sun lit up the route, and yes, a dinosaur joined the walk. Back inside, warm soup and a whole lot of gratitude were waiting.

Year one

Out into the snow

A full room, a time of worship and encouragement, then out into the snow together. Afterwards, walkers came back inside to warm up over a hot meal.
