About

Meet Joy Covey.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Photography and a Master of Education, and I've been photographing events since 2013.

I'm an Ottawa event photographer working with nonprofits, charities, ministries and businesses. Nonprofits and ministries are close to my heart, and some of my favourite clients are the teams doing that work here in Ottawa.

Why "Just Joy"? I don't have a middle name. My dad wanted me to be just Joy because he wanted joy in our home. I embody my name, so naming my business after it felt right.

How can we use the photos?

Use them to promote your organization: your website, social media, newsletters, fundraising appeals, donor and annual reports, grant applications and printed materials about your programs, with a photo credit to Just Joy Imaging. Sending them to the media with a press release is welcome too. Boosted or paid ads, selling the photos, or sharing them with sponsors needs a quick written agreement first.

Are you insured?

Yes. Just Joy Imaging carries business liability insurance. If your venue needs proof of insurance, just ask and I'll send it over.

What if our event runs late?

No problem. Extra time can be added on the day at $250 per hour.

Do you travel outside Ottawa?

I cover Ottawa and the National Capital Region. For events farther away, just ask and I'll let you know my availability and travel cost.

Can you take headshots at the event?

Yes. Add a headshot station for your staff and speakers for $250. I'll just need a small space at the venue to set up a backdrop and lights.

How do we book?

Once we've talked through your event, a signed agreement and a non-refundable retainer hold your date. The balance is due before the event begins. I accept e-transfer, cheque or cash.
