Canvas wraps, printed and stretched in Ottawa
A canvas wrap is your photo printed on canvas and stretched around a wooden frame, so the picture wraps over the edges. It hangs as is, with no frame or glass needed. Every canvas I make is printed and stretched in-house in Ottawa, Canada.

How I make every canvas
- Checking the crop. With a picture wrap, about 1½" of your photo goes around each side, so I check the crop first and make sure no faces or important details end up on the edge.
- Printed on canvas. Your photo is colour-balanced, then printed on Bresson on Exhibition Canvas Matte with archival inks.
- Building the frame. I cut and join a pine frame to the exact size of your canvas.
- Stretching. I stretch the canvas over the frame myself, pulling it tight, stapling it along the back and folding each corner neatly.
- Ready to hang. Hanging hardware is included, so it can go straight on your wall.
Frames built in the studio, and a finished family canvas.
The details
- Canvas: Exhibition Canvas Matte, a textured, no-shine surface.
- Frame: 1×2 pine, so your canvas stands 1½" off the wall.
Choose your edge
The one choice to make with a canvas is what happens on the sides. You'll pick it on the order form when you choose a canvas wrap.
Picture wrap
Also called a gallery wrap. Your photo continues around the sides, so about 1½" on each side wraps around.
Mirrored edge
The front shows your whole photo, and the sides are a mirror image of its edges, so none of the picture is lost.
Solid colour
The front shows your whole photo, and the sides are one clean colour: black, white or a colour you choose.

Sizes and prices
Canvas can also be made to fit your photo, just ask. Canvas wraps are ready 2–3 business days after we confirm your order. Pickup in Ottawa is free, and shipping within Canada starts at $15.
Which photos work best on canvas?
Canvas shines at bigger sizes, from 11×14 up, so your photo needs enough detail to stay sharp that large. Photos from a camera or a newer phone, taken in good light, usually work well. Send the original file and I'll check it before printing.
