Just Joy | 2018 goal setting

Just Joy Imaging-Goals-Joy

Good morning, Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend!
I took time away this past weekend to getaway, clear my head, set some personal and business goals and just to have some time to myself. I have never done anything like it before.
I booked an Airbnb, took off for a three days, two nights and had time to myself.
I feel like 2018 has been racing by and I needed to slow it down for a moment.
During the winter semester, I knew what I needed to accomplish with work, teaching and business, but as the semester came to a close, I just felt like I needed to reorientate myself to these next coming seasons... spring and SUMMER!

A huge part of this weekend away was to help me to set goals that I feel I can accomplish.
My biggest take away is that I want to stay committed to setting goals for each month, make them come true and to bring you along for the ride. Make the bigger picture a little smaller! Ultimately, I love when my business growth is about you and how we can come together to make creative wonderful things happen.
This is a hint of the goals I am setting!

So as I sit here this sunny Saturday morning in an overstuffed chair, coffee beside me and computer in my lap writing this blog, I just want to say that I will be releasing another blog next Monday to talk about the goals of Just Joy for this next season!
This is just my intro to that up and coming blog!

As for this week, stay posted to all our social media accounts as Mother's Day is coming up this weekend and we want to make sure to take the time to honour all of our mum's and our mother figures in our lives!

If you haven't already, follow me at Just Joy Imaging on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date!

That is all for now, oh but wait... I could set one goal with you all...

Goal #1: Drink Less Coffee

Coffee is a necessity to life but I am wanting to learn to find rest in the midst of the busy so I do not have to be so coffee dependent!
Wish me all the best, please!

Have a wonderful week and love to all of you!

Stepping outside of your comfortable

In life, we often get caught up in what is happening right then and there in front of us and we don't see much else.

As a photographer, you have to see outside of the now and make memories for the future. You need to see the big picture. I find it helps me look at life in general better when I think this way as well. As I go for drives with the family or shoot events or assist weddings, I get the privilege of seeing everything twice. Once through the view finder and then secondly on the computer screen, it opens up my eyes to catch moments that could be missed or see a silly smile caught on someones face after its all said and done and get a good laugh.

In the instance of these two photos, it was quite a day. It was actually New Years Day this year, we went for a drive as a family. When we left our home, it was a full on snow storm but as we drove out into the country, there was no snow and it was warmer and then as we drove back, we came right back into the snow storm. It was only an two hour drive round trip but we saw two completely different places it seemed.

It makes you wonder how in life, we get so caught up in the moment of what is going on, sometimes we have to just take a few steps away and maybe we will see something different!

Thank you for reading!
