Happy First Day of Spring!
I promised a good story and here it is!
On holiday, it was our first night on the beach. We were so excited to be just wandering along with the ocean lapping at our feet. As we were walking, we saw lots of broken shells but we also saw this sad looking jellyfish stuck way up on the sand. It had been mauled by people through the day and was probably not going to survive. As we continued along, we then saw this funny looking jellyfish as shown in the photos above. Seeing that it was closer to the water and the tide was going out, we felt heroic to save this jellyfish and so we decided to help get it back into the water. As said, the tide was going out and this poor little guy wasn't in the water, but wasn't far from it.
So we became brave (using the royal we here, I just took pictures) and touched the slimmy little guy and started to push it to the waves. As each wave came closer and closer, we were trying to help it get caught in the undertow and get pulled out into the ocean. It took us like 15 minutes before we really started to see progress and by now our hands are starting to get very cold, but we pushed through to save the jellyfish!
Finally in it went and we were all excited to save the day for this little guy!
Feeling great and the sun soon setting, we began our walk back up the beach to our pathway that took us to our condo. As we walked along, we passed a couple that we had seen before and had talked about the first sad jellyfish and excitingly told them we saved another one. They laughed and smiled with us as we were all excited and happy to have saved this particular jellyfish.
Unbeknownst to us, they were actually laughing at us...the next morning, Jael and I went for a walk along the beach and what did we see...
Literally hundreds of poor jellyfish washed up onto the shore... it is NORMAL! Every day the tide comes in and goes out and they get swept in and out. No one worries about them because they know when the tide comes back in, out they go again!
So here we thought, we were saving the day but instead we were just having a good old time and playing with a jellyfish!
Needless to say our holiday was absolutely amazing! The beach is definitely call me back, but with the first day of spring here and warm weather on the way, I am very happy!
I hope you all have a great week and come back soon!
