Welcome to Just Joy Imaging.
As you begin to explore my website, I would love for you to learn a little about me and hope you see artwork that inspires you. I am a young aspiring photographer currently studying at Algonquin College Photography Program as a Potential Graduate of 2015. As a photographer, I want the work that I do to be simple and beautiful and help you see what a amazing world we live on.
I am Joy Covey. I was born and raised in Eastern Ontario. I have always loved art, but I can’t draw a straight line to save my life. Thank God that cameras were invented. I began photography in my late teens as an expression of creativity as I realized that I could change someone’s perspective on the situation around them by a simple snap shot. I want to bring joy and happiness to people through my work. If I can help put a smile on someone’s face or intrigue them to look beyond themselves and see the beauty around them, I am satisfied with my work. It has been an amazing journey of discovery and learning of the beautiful art of photography these last three years. My schooling has taught me to love a challenge and accomplish a goal. The development of my work and art has been important and profound as I continue to push the envelope in everything I do each day.
Just Joy Imaging was founding by myself as a play on my name. When I was born, my dad wanted me to be just Joy, no middle name. He didn’t want me to be anymore or anything less than Joy. I can agree with that. Every since then, I have restated that so many times as people ask if my name is Joy or Joyce and I say, “Just Joy” and then when we play the “What’s your middle name game?” I then smile and say that I don’t have a middle name, it is “Just Joy”. It only seemed to fit that as I begin my journey of photography, it tells my story!
I want my work to tell a story, join me in telling that story as you flip through the pages.
